Describing as an 'eyewash,' the police probe into the death of his father in an attack during college elections, Himanshu Sabharwal on Thursday said he had sent a petition to President A P J Abdul Kalam in this regard.

Besides this, he also plans to move the Supreme Court and the National Human Rights Commission with the plea for justice.

"I have written to the President seeking justice," said the aggrieved son of Prof H S Sabharwal, who was attacked by unruly students at Madhav College and died.

"Police action is eyewash. State government is trying to shelter the accused," he said, adding that even the CID probe into the incident was inadequate as it was a state government's arm.
