PIX: Nandana Sen sizzles in Rang Rasiya

Ketan Mehta's Rang Rasiya, which has been underway for quite a while now, has actress Nandana Sen in the role of Sugandha -- 19th century artist Raja Ravi Verma's muse.

The actress has ruffled many feathers with her voluptous body -- she put on a few extra kilos to fit in her character -- and sensuous costumes.

In the latest news from the film, the actress has apparently received death threats for the bold scenes in the film.

Randeep Hooda plays the painter in the film while Sen plays Sugandha, who's described as possessive, passionate and hungry for the painter's love.

An epitome of unbridled sexuality, the muse has to face ostracism from the society for posing nude for Verma's paintings.

The actress has become a topic of hot discussion as she's posed nude for certain scenes in the film, which is almost unheard of in mainstream cinema, let alone for a biopic on an important historical figure.

The actress had previously done a topless scene in 2005 for Tango Charlie.

Ketan Mehta decided to cast Sen in the role when he saw two Ravi Varma paintings in the actress's home.

The actress was helped with her familiarily with the physical patterns in Varma's paintings of women.

The film is an adaptation of Marathi writer Ranjit Desai's biographical novel Raja Ravi Varma.

The bilingual film is titled Colour of Passion in English and Rang Rasiya in Hindi.

One of the scenes in the film is a wide angle shot of a skimpily clad Sen and shows one of her breasts.

The Censor Board objected to the said scene and ordered for a review by consensus.

The film also stars newcomer Triptha Parasher and it's release date is still to be decided.
