Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who turned 46 today, was touched by fans standing outside his Mumbai residence, waiting to sing a birthday song for him.

'thanx so much boys & girls. celebrated my birthday in the plane 30000 ft in the air...then on the tarmac...finally with my lil girl & boy. was so touched when i reached home from bathing..sooo many ppl waiting outside the house and sang happy birthday for me.had tears in my eyes,' he tweeted.

Meanwhile, the actor said that he wants to spend his birthday with many hours of sleep. 'going to sleep now...this birthday will celebrate with a well deserved many hours of sleep...thanx for ur wishes. dont feel older or wiser,' he added.

Shah Rukh wants to write songs for Priyanka

Priyanka Chopra was among the first celebrities to wish Shah Rukh a happy birthday.
