Anu Malik is back on the charts, with his score for the forthcoming Yamla Pagla Deewana. The music composer wants to let his music do the talking. So he gives us a taste of it -- check out the videos -- and also talks about his favourite songs.

Song: Tinku Jiya
Movie: Yamla Pagla Deewana

The song that sounds out for me in Yamla Pagla Deewana is Tinku Jiya.

I was going to do just one song for the movie but I ended up doing two. This is an out-and-out item number, a total masala song beautifully sung by Mamta Sharma and Javed Ali. It has an Anu Malik stamp on it.

Let's Go To Toonpur

Movie: Toonpur Ka Superrhero

It was very difficult to compose songs for Toonpur Ka Superrhero because some of them take the story forward and some are commercial numbers.

The beats that kickstarts the title song Let's Go To Toonpur are catchy enough to make you tap your feet and start dancing.

Mere Khayalon Ki Malika

Movie: Josh

I have many favourite songs but there is one director whom I admire, love and adore -- Mansoor Khan.

I have done two films with him: Akele Hum Akele Tum and Josh.

I love Mere Khayalon Ki Malika. It's very beautifully sung and immediately connects with your heart.

Tumhe Jo Maine Dekha

Movie: Main Hoon Na

I have done just one film with Farah Khan and have thoroughly enjoyed working with her. Main Hoon Na got me a Filmfare award. I think Abhijeet's voice complimented Shah Rukh Khan very well.

Deewana Mujhsa Nahi

Movie: Teesri Manzil

I grew up on Deewana Mujhasa Nahi. Apart from R D Burman's composition and Rafisaab's voice, it's the lyrics that does the magic. The protagonist expresses his love and desire for someone he has come across and fallen for -- the first two lines magnificently mention that I am mad in love and that I can die in love.

Yeh Mera Deewanapan Hai

Movie: Yahudi

This one is from Shankar-Jaikishen from the film Yahudi. It is a beautiful piece that cannot be ignored.

Dilip Kumar looks so good in this song. And so subtle. A slow moving pensive track which lifts the mood. The flow of voice is brilliant.

Jaane Jaan Dhoondta Phir Raha

Movie: Jawani Diwani

This song has to be in my all-time favourite list. To begin with the song is very addictive, I love the octaves in the song. Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle take you in a trance. The mood, treatment and setting of the song are totally different.

Haan Deewana Hoon Main

Movie: Saranga

This is my father Saradr Malik's composition. Mukeshji sung this song in his own classic style. The song still belongs to today's times. It is so beautifully pictured that you feel sorry for the character.
